Planet Trinexious
The planet is 11,354 miles in diameter. It is the only inhabited planet in a solar system of nine planets with one sun, a mid-sized yellow star, Kronas. Trinexious is the fourth planet out from Kronas, with three moons orbiting it. The closest and smallest moon is Triptrel, the middle and largest is Blithtuk, and the furthest out and medium is Messuma. Messuma is the only one that has a very slow axis spin to go with its orbital pattern.
The planet is approximately 80% covered in water. Trinexious has saltwater oceans, freshwater lakes, rivers and seas, and brackish water where they meet in estuaries. The ocean’s surface waterways are about 85% charted. The ocean depths are only 5% explored.
There are six major continents and 47 small islands visible from orbit. Trinexious has three deserts, huge mountain ranges, and sizeable swamps and marshlands. Most of the continents still have vast ‘unexplored’ forested wilderness.
The planet has a massive northern polar region starting out from a continent with temperatures dropping to -76° during the day in the summer, and -212° at night in the winter. The southern polar region has ice formations which can support light weight impermanent structures. Its topography is constantly changing due to the melting and re-freezing which happens weekly with temperatures radically fluctuating from 35̊ to -85̊. The equator of the planet can reach temperatures of 128° in the open at the height of summer. Seasons depend on which region and hemisphere you are in.
Though Planet Trinexious is almost identical to Earth in atmosphere, water, and soil composition, there are marked differences in vegetation. All flora on Trinexious goes through a process called veining. Bright rainbow colors live at the hearts of most leaves in a Trinexioun spring. The color fills the central vein then spreads out to the smaller veins. The color deepens with age as the seasons change, and finally, bleeds into the green of the leaf its self in the autumn.
Trinexious has a thirty-six hour day (60 seconds in a minute, 70 minutes in a hour), ten days in a week, five weeks in a month, and seventeen months in a year, [thereby having 892 days and 26,760 hours in a year]. Days are arranged on a Trinexioun calender from first day of the work week to last day of the weekend, and are named for the Trinexioun Goddesses/Gods, except for the last day of the week. The days are Traudy, Grephtundy, Plethady, Wynsdy, Meztindy, Tresdindy, Bethrady, Kronasdy, Malaktdy, Shundy. Traudy is the first day of the work week. Kronasdy is the first day of the weekend. The months are Tren, Quint, Malztruss, Robyn, Queltarn, Kassandra, Talmuktre, Watwerth, Eston, Juellma, Juvrulk, Pluntar, Tria, Methiss, Klultrel, Kenya, and Anthon. Most months have 53 or 54 days with the exceptions of Robyn, Juellma, and Kenya which have 49 days each. There is a twelve year leap cycle in which every three years Robyn, Juellma, or Kenya will have 50 days in turn. A new year starts on the Spring Equinox.
Trinexious has two sentient peoples, the humanoid Trinexiouns and the bear descended Strimmers, and a disappeared people dubbed the Elder Race.
Trinexiouns are similar in appearance to a human from Earth. The mass majority of the population is albino. Their skin colors are extremely pale bordering on translucent, and they sunburn easily. Their hair colors are generally white to very pale blond. Their eye colors are most offend red or pink with some appearing almost white. Over the generations skin, hair, and eye colors have developed in a wider spectrum of pale color. Those individuals are often discriminated against. On average, Trinexiouns are thin and sinewy in body, with larger eyes than humans. Males are generally 5’11” to 6’7″ in height, weighing 150 to 275 lbs. Females are generally 5’9″ to 6’3″ in height, weighing 128 to 240 lbs. The average life span is 198 to 230 years of age.
Trinexiouns do not know the evolution of their own species. Their records only go back seven generations.
Trinexiouns have tried to capitalize on what the Elder Race left behind, though they know almost nothing of the Elder Race, who built the cities they live in, and other structures on the planet. They have patterned their Faith(s) on structures they believe were once temples, and have defined nine Gods/Goddesses with Their Totem Animals. The Nine are:
Kronas – Goddess of the Sun, The Sacred Flame, Mother of All
Totem Animal – The Fienyx (Phoenix) : Holiday – Summer Solstice, Queltarn 14
Malakt – God of the Moons, the Waters, Sea Creatures, Father of All
Totem Animal – The Laviathen (Leviathan) : Holiday – Winter Solstice, Tria 39
Trau – Goddess of Learning, Knowledge, Agriculture, all Arts Creative and Destructive
Totem Animal – The Klystral : Holiday – Spring Equinox, Tren 1 (New years day)
Meztin – God of the Land and its Animals, and the Hunt
Totem Animal – The Rabous (Strimmer) : Holiday – Autumn Equinox, Eston 25
Pletha – Goddess of the Air, Weather, Purification, and all Flyers
Totem Animal – The Weltra Fly Bird : Holiday – Days of Wind, Malztruss 5
Tresdin – God of the Metals, Minerals, and the Forge
Totem Animal – The Lumgoh : Holiday – Days of Forging, Tamuktre 20
Bethra – Goddess of Pular and Material Wealth
Totem Animal – The Delmure : Holiday – Days of Lineage, Klultrel 44
Grephtun – God of Relationships, Love, Honesty, The Home
Totem Animal – The Myshtalk : Holiday – has no specific holiday, but is acknowledged on all other holidays, birthdays, and anniversaries
Wyns – Goddess of Superstitions, the Oracle’s, and Kismet
Totem Animal – The Ferret : Holiday – Days of Autumn Harvest, Juvrulk 34.
No significant writings or personal items from the Elder Race have been found, so use of Elder Race technology has been difficult at best. There are still many structures whose uses are unknown, and are dangerous if tampered with.
The majority of Trinexioun civilizations exist as cities and coastal settlements on the outer rim of the continents, although there are villages built further inland, mostly around carefully chosen Elder Race sites. Groups of settlements are called provinces; most have a central settlement called the Provence Seat. There are also coastal settlements and villages on the scattered small islands.
The Trinexiouns have four major powers: the Universities, the Hospitals, the Governments, and the Militaries. These groups are always trying to gain the upper hand and support of the populace.
Strimmers are much larger than Trinexiouns. Their bodies are covered mostly with a thick, shaggy hair. Areas of exposed skin include the face, and hands. Their face possesses many of the same muscle groups as a Trinexioun allowing similar facial expressions. Strimmers have very expressive eyes and a short, wide muzzle. Their hair and skin colors are generally tans, browns, blacks, and reds. The skin and hair color rarely match. Eye colors vary from dark to light. Common eye colors are reds, blues, greens, and golds with flakes of varying colors and gray pupils. Males are 10’9″ to 12’2″ in height while standing erect, and weigh 1,025 to 1,783 lbs. Females are 8’11” to 10’4″ in height while standing erect, and weigh 737 to 952 lbs. The average life span is 400 to 435 years of age.
Strimmers have short, powerfully muscled legs and feet that are like a bear’s. They have a fairly long waist with extra muscles along the sides, back, and the abdominal areas providing support for standing. They have a densely muscled chest and two elongated heavily muscled humanoid arms. Large hands are slightly elongated. Strimmers also have slightly sloped shoulders, and an elongated neck ending in a large, broad head.
Strimmers have the ability to walk upright on their legs, although this does eventually cause pain in the lower back. Instead, they normally walk on all fours, giving them a much more comfortable stride that they can keep for hours on end. They can run incredibly fast for their size, and have a greater stability and sense of balance than the average Trinexioun. They normally only stand on two legs when working on something requiring the use of their hands, which are very agile for their size. The palms of their hands and the soles of their feet are covered with thick, course pads ideal for walking, running, or swimming in whatever environment they find themselves in.
The finger claws are always visible and are dark brown or black. They are used for crafting, building, writing, digging, and fighting. Like a bear’s claw, they are long and slightly curved, and are often 5 to 8 inches in length. The toe claws are similar to a cat’s claw in appearance and function. They are 8 to 10 inches when extended, and are translucent, allowing a Strimmer to see the quick running through the claw. The toe claws always stay within toe-tip unless extended out for climbing or some other similar purpose. Fingers and toes have short webbing to aid in swimming. [Strimmers also have the ability to close their nostrils allowing them to swim under water for extended periods of time.]
A Strimmer’s reproductive organs are similar to a Trinexioun’s. Males grow hair thicker and longer in the pelvic area, which conceals their penis and scrotum. Females have internal genitalia, and don’t grow pelvic hair as thick as a male. Both sexes have four to six breasts or teats with the first being the most prominent and the second being slightly less pronounced. The rest start at the lower ribs, and run down the upper waist. When females are pregnant and in their child rearing times, they will have two to four pair swell with milk. They normally have two to four young at a time with any more or less being very rare.
Strimmers are an old race. They live in tribes called Fylk in the ‘unexplored’ wilderness areas. They have a spoken lore, and all individual Fylk Knowledge is passed on through word-of-mouth, although they do record major Fylk events, and communicate with other Fylk in writing. Their lives are steeped in traditions that have developed over generations. They live in harmony with their environment, and seek peace in nature. Some Strimmers do choose to leave the wilderness to live with the Trinexioun population.
All Fylk are guided by a Council of Elders, a Myltu (Chieftain), and a Griphsu (Healer/Shaman). In some Fylk there are two Griphsu, one is a healer and the other is a shaman responsible for the spiritual needs of the Fylk. Succession of the stations of Myltu and Griphsu are a process of nomination by the previous Myltu or Griphsu, and a series of trials. The Council of Elders then chooses the next individual to hold the station. There is no set number of members for the Council of Elders.
Strimmers see the planet as the Mother of All. They look to the Spirit of Nature and their own Ancestors for spiritual guidance. All of the Totem Animals incorperated in the Trinexioun Faith(s) [excluding themselves] are also considered to be scared, and specially looked after by the Spirit of Nature.
Both races are intelligent with the ability to invent new technologies, solve problems presented in daily life, and sustain their species.
