The deck went silent when Cousin and Gabb came from the aft apartments. Cousin smiled at the ship and the cave and the still deep ocean within. She smiled at the men. A cheer shook the rigging.
“Sleek and sexy,” Bry said, and whistled a long suggestive note. The willowy archer ran a hand through his wild brown hair.
“Gave it hell,” Stephen said with a wink of one tar black eye.
Twins Frick and Ollie gave a double bow. Identical tawny eyes and bright blue hair gave way to very different expressions.
“One for the records,” Monk said linking his ink stained fingers.
More ‘good jobs’, ‘great works’, and ‘damned fines’ rained down. Cousin blushed and laughed a small laugh.
“Make way,” Kraken called, and the men parted.
Gabb put a hand on her back, and guided her forward. Reflected light danced bright waves across her face. She looked at Kraken, and her face flushed brighter.
“How do you feel?” Kraken asked.
“I’m hungry.”
“Jak, our Cousin needs to be fed!”
“Aye, Captain,” Jak said. He held out a tattooed hand to Cousin.
