Gabb opened the door and let Cousin and Kor into the cell. The ward spanned the door way shimmering in the space. Cousin started handing Kor several different weapons. She talked about the type of enchantment, and who she thought could use it. Kor added his insight and before long they had gathered twenty weapons.
Gabb locked the door. “Not exactly what I thought you meant. This is better I think.”
Kor and Cousin laid out the weapons in the galley. Kor looked each piece over, as Cousin watched. Gabb leaned against a wall his arms crossed over his chest. He eyed a set of short handled hatchets with elaborate scrolls carved into the blades. Kor muttered to himself and walked around the tables one last time.
“Quit your lusting and see if those hatchets work for you,” Kor said to Gabb. “Then send the rest down a few at a time.”
Gabb grasped the handles and swung the weapons in slow arcs, rotating his wrists. The blades made a low singing sound. Gabb gave a Death Smile. “Perfect.”
